Combining fire resistance, sound abatement and ease of application, Temple-Inland’s SilentGuard Shaftliner is an attractive alternative to traditional masonry construction for elevator shafts, stairwells, air and mechanical shafts, grease ducts, as well as area separation walls. It is designed for installation from the perimeter of the shaft, eliminating the cost and labor of scaffolding construction.

Recycled Content Certification:
Temple-Inland SilentGuard shaftliner is certified in accordance to ISO 14021 standards to have recycled material content. All certified products feature a gypsum core sandwiched between recycled facers. Our SilentGuard shaftliner is available with up to 95% certified recycled content for environmental “green” requirements. The recycled content levels of gypsum board produced at our Cumberland City, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas facilities are third-party verified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS). This certified material composition can contribute toward recycled material credits in the LEED rating system as well as other rating systems.
